For this research, I repeated studies that had been done in previous years according to the same procedures and using the same kinds of equipment to allow for comparison. Sampling included water chemistry, macrophyte and periphyton productivity and biomass, diurnal oxygen concentration as a measure of community metabolism, and crayfish and fish populations. After multiple times of going over my waders in doing the field work involved, I traded research help with Mike Enk on his project in Michigan’s Huron Mountains in doing mapping and electrofishing.
